Project details

On 3rd November 2007, a fun day creating awareness regarding persons with Down Syndrome took place in the Cape Town region. 

Events taking place on that day include a 5km Fun Walk/Run, Baby Competition, Break Dancing Competition, "Come and Play", Street Soccker, local performing artists and more. There were also vendor stalls on the day.

Role of ICVolunteers

ICVolunteers in Cape Town recruited a coordinator for the Down Syndrome Association First Fun Walk and the Volunteer Centre mobilized volunteers for the event. Mokotso, recruited by the ICV Desk, took care of the coordination of the activities and volunteers making the day possible.



Short Term Projects

ICVolunteers promotes volunteerism and its recognition, by enhancing civic commitment and involvement, and by providing leadership and links between organizations, individuals and communities. With this perspective, ICVolunteers develops projects and leads initiatives.
